Indian passport holders are facing challenges in getting tourist visas for Dubai due to stricter rules recently introduced by the UAE. Earlier, almost all visa applications were approved, but now the approval rate has dropped significantly, according to reports. Indian travelers planning to visit the Gulf city now face stricter screening, with a higher chance of their visa applications being rejected, even if all their documents are submitted correctly. Under the UAE's new visa rules, tourists must provide proof of their hotel bookings and return tickets. Those staying with relatives need to submit proof of accommodation. According to Nikhil Kumar, Director of Passio Travels Pvt Ltd, visa applications are being rejected even when confirmed flight tickets and hotel bookings are provided, as per reports. He explained, "Even when travelers staying with relatives in Dubai provide all required documents, such as the host's rental agreement, Emirates ID, residence visa copy, and contact details, their visa applications are still being rejected. This is happening even after clients have paid for confirmed flight tickets and hotel bookings." The report states that the visa rejection rate has increased to 5-6% daily out of around 100 applications, compared to the earlier rate of 1-2%. This rise in rejections is causing travelers to face financial losses, as they lose money not only on visa fees but also on pre-booked flight tickets and hotel reservations. This situation arises during the Dubai Shopping Festival when hotel prices are at a premium. Vijay Thakkar, Director of Hasmukh Travels, shared that two of his clients, who planned to stay with relatives in Dubai, had their trips disrupted after their visa applications were rejected despite submitting all the required documents under the new rules. They also faced financial losses due to the rejection. ALSO READ: Assad's Collapse Breaks Important Link in Iran's Regional Influence
