Watch: Delhi Rau's IAS Centre Flooding, Protesters Detained

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi sealed the basements of 13 additional civil service coaching centres on Sunday following the tragic death of three students in a waterlogged basement of a coaching centre in Old Rajendra Nagar, Delhi. This action by the authorities was prompted by mounting pressure from protesting students, who demanded justice and action against the illegal use of basements. At Rau's IAS coaching centre, there were approximately 30 students present. Out of these, 12 to 14 were rescued and taken to the hospital, while others managed to escape. Unfortunately, three students perished after being trapped in the flooded basement. The incident occurred at 6:35 pm on Saturday when rainwater inundated the basement of the coaching centre. The police and fire department officials received an emergency call around 7:10 pm. Water was promptly pumped out from the basement, but an NDRF team was called in as divers were needed to reach the trapped students.
