Rahul Dravid Refuses Rs. 2.5 crores Bonus for The World Cup Win

Rahul Dravid has once again showed his humility once again through his actions. Recently, he refused a bonus of Rs. 2.5 crores, offered by BCCI, for the T20 World Cup Win by the Indian Cricket Team. Rahul Dravid acted as the head coach in the T20 World Cup Series, where Team India, under Rohit Sharma’s leadership, while the Indian team won the final match against South Africa, taking the trophy home. According to reports, BCCI announced that all the members of the Indian Cricket Team will receive the prize money of Rs. 125 crores collectively, so all 15 members and the head coach will receive Rs. 5 crores each respectively. But, Rahul Dravid, in great sportsmanship refused this bonus prize, since the other coaches- the fielding coach, bowling coach and the batting coach received 2.5 crores. Rahul Dravid after refusing the bonus amount has received the same fees as the other coaches of the team. A BCCI source informed, "Rahul wanted the same bonus money (Rs. 2.5 crore) as the rest of his support staff (bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, fielding coach T Dilip and batting coach Vikram Rathore). We respect his sentiments." This is not the first time Rahul Dravid has faced such a situation. In 2018, when Rahul Dravid was  the head coach of India's winning U-19 World Cup team,  he was to get INR 50 lakh while the other members of the support staff were to get Rs. 20 lakh each and the players were getting Rs. 30 lakh each. Dravid refused such a differentiation, forcing the BCCI to change the distribution percentage and reward everyone equally.
