Why smoking “near but not around” is equally harmful

Secondhand smoke from even one cigarette harms nearly every organ in a nonsmoker's body, increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke. This poisonous mix of chemicals irritates airways, inflames lung tissue, and poses significant dangers to children and pregnant women. There is no safe level of exposure, and even thirdhand smoke residue remains toxic.
