Will IIT cross-campus mobility deliver real academic choice?

For years, an IIT seat meant four years within one campus. Now, students may take courses and in some cases spend a semester at another IIT, with credits counted back home. The reform promises wider exposure and flexibility, but limited seats, selection rules, logistics and internal hierarchy questions will determine whether this becomes meaningful change or a carefully controlled pilot.
