‘Got India’s commitment not to buy Russian oil’; Rubio`s claim clashes with Jaishankar`s strategic autonomy stance

India agreed to halt Russian oil purchases for tariff relief and a trade deal, says US Secretary Marco Rubio at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday. On the same platform, EAM S Jaishankar reaffirmed India’s strategic autonomy amid Congress accusations of Modi government capitulation to US pressure on Russian oil.
