Guyana is among ten Caribbean territories expected to have their microbiology laboratories upgraded. The initiative, Strengthening Antimicrobial Resistance Response in the Caribbean, focuses on enhancing diagnostic capacity and strengthening surveillance, and improving the region’s ability to respond to antimicrobial-resistant infections; the initiative will be implemented by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) through the UK Government’s Fleming Fund.
