English-Ghanaian midfielder Marcus McGuane joins Huddersfield Town FC

Marcus McGuane has sealed a permanent move to Huddersfield Town, signing a three-year deal following his departure from Bristol City.Still only 26, the English-born Ghanaian midfielder has a lot of experience. From Arsenal’s youth ranks to making history as the first Englishman in nearly three decades to play for Barcelona’s senior side, his path has been anything but ordinary. That one appearance for the Catalan giants in the Supercopa de Catalunya was a rare feat, replacing Aleix Vidal and writing himself into club history.His time abroad also took him to Dutch side Telstar on loan before he returned home. A stint at Nottingham Forest led to a productive four-year spell with Oxford United, where he played a key role in their 2023/24 promotion push, appearing 41 times across the regular season and playoffs.Though he only spent a short time with Bristol City, McGuane's growing maturity and experience across leagues make him a valuable addition for the Terriers as they look to climb again.McGuane played 21 times in the Championship for Bristol City last season and featured in both legs of their play-off battle with Sheffield United.
