Berekum Chelsea Communications Director, Isaac Obeng, has shed light on why some players took to the pitch without names on their jerseys during the club’s Ghana Premier League opener against Asante Kotoko.The club has been cited by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for multiple breaches of matchday regulations following Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at the Golden City Park.One of the violations highlighted was the absence of proper identification on some players’ shirts.According to Obeng, the issue arose because the club only received their kits on Friday afternoon, less than 24 hours before the match."We received our jerseys on Friday afternoon. During the inspection, we realised that some had numbers at the back while others did not,” Obeng said on Asempa FM.“But the timeframe was too short for the club to resolve the issue, so we informed the company, who admitted it was a mistake.“We will find ways to ensure it does not happen in the next match," he added.Beyond the jersey matter, Chelsea have also been charged with breaching safety and security protocols after granting unauthorised access to an official, Nana Nketia, within the inner perimeter.The club further failed to organise the mandatory...
