Veronica Commey appointed Deputy Director General of NSA
Renowned sports journalist Veronica Commey has been appointed as a Deputy Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA).Her appointment was officially announced by the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, during the launch of a sports psychology training program at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday.Commey, a seasoned journalist and a long-time member of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), will serve as one of two deputies to the NSA's Acting Director General, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, who also has a background in journalism.Joining her in the deputy role is sports administrator Gideon Hammond.With an extensive career in sports media, Commey previously worked as the Chief Sports Journalist at the Ghana News Agency (GNA) before transitioning into freelance work with international sports organizations.Beyond journalism, she has held administrative roles, including serving as Head of Corporate Affairs at the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) from 2015 to 2017.Her expertise also includes serving as the Media Officer for Team Ghana during the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in France.The NSA traditionally appoints two Deputy Director Generals—one responsible for administration and the other for technical matters.However, it remains unclear how...
