Five Elmina Sharks officials fined and banned for misconduct
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee has fined five officials of Elmina Sharks GHS 10,000 each and banned them for the rest of the season after they were found guilty of misconduct during a league match against Swedru All Blacks United FC on February 16, 2025.George Wiredu, Seth Armstrong, Kelvin Aboagye, Joshua Kyibazah, and Kingsley Arthur unlawfully invaded the pitch to confront match officials over a penalty decision. They were also found guilty of inciting violence and attempting to assault referees after the game.The GFA has warned that any further misconduct will attract severe sanctions. Alongside the bans, the officials must each pay GHS 10,000 as part of their punishment.This ruling bars them from participating in any football-related activities for the remainder of the season.
