Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi has expressed disappointment with his party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for failing to intervene in his ongoing legal troubles.Nyantakyi, who has been battling corruption charges stemming from the "#Number 12 exposé" by journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, revealed his expectation that the NPP would support him by withdrawing the case. He cited his involvement in the party, including his bid to contest the parliamentary primaries in the Ejisu constituency, as a reason for his hopes."During my prime time to contest the seat, the case was discussed within the party. I thought that if I contested, they [NPP] would have cancelled the court case," Nyantakyi said in an interview with Hot FM.The former GFA boss lamented the prolonged emotional and financial strain of the five-year legal battle, stating, "I haven't spent any government money, I haven't killed anybody, but I'm still in court."The charges against Nyantakyi, which include fraud and corruption, are tied to allegations made in the investigative exposé.
