Swedish-Ghanaian Leon Hien bolsters Degerfors' defense with long-term deal

Degerfors IF has strengthened its backline with the signing of 23-year-old Swedish-Ghanaian defender Leon Hien from Norwegian club Odds BK.The promising centre-back has penned a contract that will keep him at the club until the end of 2027.Hien, who began his football journey with Kista FC at just six years old, has had a diverse career trajectory, including stints with AIK, Djursholm, and Hammarby's academy during his youth. After honing his skills in Sweden's lower divisions with Frej and Hammarby TFF, he ventured to Norway to join Odds BK in Skien.Despite an injury-plagued start to 2024 that sidelined him for the first half of the year, Hien made an impressive comeback with seven Eliteserien appearances in the autumn. His fitness now fully restored, he showcased his readiness by clocking the fastest 30-meter sprint during physical tests with Degerfors yesterday.Hien's arrival marks a significant boost for Degerfors' defensive lineup as they prepare for the upcoming challenges.
