Kofi Adams nominated as Minister of Sports and Recreation

President John Mahama has nominated Kofi Adams, Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency, as the new Minister of Sports and Recreation.The nomination was part of the third batch of Ministerial appointments submitted for parliamentary approval.Adams, who will undergo vetting before officially assuming office, replaces Mustafa Ussif, who served as Sports Minister under the previous administration of President Nana Akufo-Addo.At 49, Adams holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology with a focus on the Epidemiology of Parasitic Diseases. He brings extensive experience in education and politics to the role.In a previous interview with GhOne TV, Adams expressed his readiness to take on the position, stating, "I will gladly accept the Sports Minister position if appointed. Let’s return to grassroots sports and implement it effectively.""Let's return to grassroot sports and implement it effectively."As Minister, Adams is expected to address key issues in the sports sector, including improving sports infrastructure, securing better funding for national teams, and enhancing Ghana's performance in major tournaments.
