betPawa Locker Room bonus debuts in women’s football

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) and betPawa have launched the first-ever betPawa Locker Room Bonus for women’s football, starting with the Women’s FA Cup Round of 16 matches over the weekend.In a groundbreaking initiative, players from the eight teams that advanced to the quarterfinals received a cash reward of GH¢400 each.Additionally, three technical team members from each winning squad also received the bonus, marking the first time such an incentive has been introduced in Ghanaian women’s football.The teams that benefited from the initiative include:Hasaacas Ladies FCRootz Sistaz FCFaith Ladies FCNorthern Ladies FCSung Shining Ladies FCAmpem Darkoa Ladies FCJonina Ladies FCFosu Royals Ladies FCThis initiative mirrors the package already enjoyed by Ghana Premier League players since the start of the 2024/25 season, further promoting equity in the sport.betPawa, owned by Kigali-based Mchezo Limited and operating in 11 African markets, aims to uplift sports through innovative collaborations.The company plans to extend the Locker Room Bonus initiative to its other countries of operation, continuing its efforts to enhance local sports and support communities.
