Ghana midfielder Francis Abu begins pre-season with Cercle Brugge

Black Stars midfielder, Francis Abu has resumed pre-season with Belgium outfit Cercle Brugge ahead of the start of the new campaign. The hardworking midfielder cut short his vacation to rejoin his teammates for preparation ahead of the start of the Belgium Pro League.Abu played a role as Cercle Brugge secured qualification for Europe in the upcoming campaign, hence the early preparations.The Ghana international joined his teammates as the players went through rigorous drills and some ball work as they build up their fitness ahead of the commencement of competitive football.Cercle Brugge will face AEK Larnaca on Saturday, July 6, 2024, for their first pre-season friendly before games against AS Monaco and Feyenoord in subsequent weeks.Their first competitive game will be in the UEFA Europa League qualifiers, where they will face Kilmarnock on July 25.Abu was rewarded a contract extension last season, inking a deal that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2026.
