Hearts of Oak coach Aboubakar Ouattara promises improved performance after Homowo Cup win

Hearts of Oak head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, has acknowledged the club's struggles from last season and vowed to turn things around in the upcoming campaign.After their recent victory in the Gbese Mantse Homowo Cup, Ouattara showed empathy for the fans who endured a challenging campaign.Hearts of Oak secured the pre-season trophy by beating Heart of Lions 8-7 on penalties, after a 1-1 draw in regular time at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.Speaking after the match, the Ivorian coach hinted at a rejuvenated Hearts of Oak team for the upcoming Ghana Premier League season, set to kick off on September 6th."I'm proud because of the fans of this big family, who is the Hearts of Oak family. I'm proud because last season all these people suffered and after I think this trophy is just the beginning of the league," he said."Maybe you can see a new-look Hearts of Oak in the league soon."The club narrowly avoided relegation last season, finishing 14th in the league. They are currently strengthening their squad through the transfer market in preparation for the new campaign.
