Hearts of Oak boss Aboubakar Ouattara optimistic after cup win

Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has expressed optimism about the club’s future following their victory in the 2024 Homowo CupThe Phobians clinched the trophy after defeating Heart of Lions on penalties on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.Ouattara, whose side has struggled in recent seasons, believes the pre-season trophy win is a positive sign for the club."Winning the trophy today against Heart of Lions is the beginning of positive things for the club," he said."I am proud because last season [fans] suffered and after, I think this trophy is just the beginning of the league. Maybe we can see a new-look Hearts of Oak in the league."Hearts of Oak are currently reinforcing their squad with new signings in preparation for the upcoming season which will kick off on September 6.The Phobians' first game is against newly promoted Holy Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium.
