Ghanaian defender Patric Pfeiffer seeks regular playing time after Young Boys move

Ghanaian defender Patric Pfeiffer has sealed a season-long loan move to Swiss Super League side Young Boys from German Bundesliga outfit FC Augsburg.  The 24-year-old, who switched allegiance to Ghana last year, is seeking regular playing time after facing limited opportunities at Augsburg.Pfeiffer joined Augsburg on a free transfer last season but struggled to secure a regular spot in the starting lineup.Young Boys will provide him with a platform to showcase his talents and potentially boost his chances of making the Black Stars squad.Pfeiffer's loan deal comes as Young Boys prepare for their Champions League playoff against Galatasaray.The German-born switched allegiance to represent Ghana at the international in 2022 but is yet to make an appearance for the Black Stars.He recently secured his Ghanaian passport and is now eligible to fully represent Ghana.The defender’s current contract with parent Augsburg is expected to elapse in the summer of 2027.
