Thomas Partey shines as Arsenal cruise to victory against Wolves in EPL opener

Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey produced a solid performance to help Arsenal to victory in their opening game of the 2024/25 English Premier League season against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Black Stars midfielder lasted the entire duration as the Gunners strolled to a 2-0 victory at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon.Germany forward Kai Havertz opened the scoring halfway into the first half after rising high to head home a Bukayo Saka cross.Harvertz repaid Saka by serving him the assist for Arsenal's second which began with a quick freekick from Partey.Mikel Arteta will hope the Ghana international stays fit throughout the campaign as Arsenal chase their first league title in 21 years.Meanwhile, Partey will be pleased with his performance and the victory ahead of their trip to Aston Villa next week.Partey is expected to also lead the Black Stars in September's AFCON qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
