The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is set to implement a new policy that will require all Ghana Premier League (GPL) clubs to have at least four Under-19 players in their matchday squads starting from the 2025/26 season.GFA President Kurt Okraku announced the policy during the 30th Ordinary Congress of the association. The move is aimed at promoting youth development and providing young players with opportunities to showcase their talent at the highest level of domestic football."Beginning from 2025/26 season, we will look at a policy of every GPL club having a minimum of 4 U19 players in their matchday squads," Okraku said.The policy is expected to benefit both the clubs and the national teams.
