U-20 Women's World Cup: There is no pressure, says Black Princesses coach Yussif Basigi

Black Princesses coach Yussif Basigi says there is no pressure ahead of the team's opening game against Austria in the 2024 U-20 Women's World Cup.The Ghana U20 side are making their seventh consecutive appearance and having failed to go beyond the group stage in the previous appearance, Basigi is hoping to break the jinx.Basigi says he is not under pressure to overcome past misfortunes but remains confident in the team's quest for success."There is no pressure on me but rather I am motivated to take part in this tournament for the second time after being with the Black Princesses in France in 2018," he told the Ghana FA website.The former Hasaacas Ladies boss led the team to win gold in the Women's Football competition of the 2023 African Games."We need the support and prayers of Ghanaians as usual and I know they are going to support us in every aspect as expected," he added.The will be staged at the Estadio Metropolitano de Techo with kick-off scheduled at 22:00GMT. The Black Princesses in Group E will also take on Japan and New Zealand.
