Ghana youth star John Batigi bags hat-trick in FC Van heavy win

Ghana youth international John Batigi continues his blistering form in the Armenian Premier League this weekend after bagging a hat-trick.The 18-year-old midfielder was unstoppable for FC Van, who ran riot over West Armenia FC with a 6-0 thrashing at the Charentsavan City Stadium on Saturday.Batigi has now scored six goals in the last three league matches.He opened the scoring of the match in the 15th minute after his sumptuous effort from outside the box beat the goalkeeper into the bottom right corner.Three minutes later, Van doubled their advantage after Kazakhstani defender Timur Rudoselskiy scored an own goal.Batigi scored again to increase the tally for the hosts moments later, connecting a cross from Nigerian forward Olawale Farayola.Midfielder Karen Nalbandyan added another goal before the half-time break.The Ghanaian teenager completed his hat-trick with another formidable strike with a fabulous curled shot in the 56th minute.Guinean forward Momo Fanye Toure rounded off the massive victory for Van when he converted a penalty kick in the 69th minute.Batigi takes his tally to six goals in five appearances in the Armenian top division since the start of the 2024-25 season.
