The Deputy Director General of the National Sports Authority, Bawa Majeed, has hit back at criticism surrounding the condition of the Baba Yara Stadium pitch, following Ghana's 1-0 loss to Angola in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.In a pointed response, Majeed questioned whether Angola "were playing in the sky" during the match.The stadium’s poor pitch quality had been a topic of concern prior to the game, with images circulating on social media showing its deteriorated state.After the match, Ghana coach Otto Addo defended centre-back Abdul Mumin, whose error led to Angola’s late goal, blaming the condition of the pitch.Addo described it as “not good,” hinting at its role in the costly mistake.Majeed, however, dismissed the criticism, telling Asempa FM, "Are they suggesting that the Angolans were playing in the sky?
