Karela United's Public Relations Officer (PRO) Sey Mubarak has addressed recent media claims about the club’s salary arrears, stating that the actual amount owed is three months, not nine as reported. In an interview with Asempa FM, Mubarak clarified that the media reports of the club owing players up to nine months' salary are misleading. He attributed the misinformation to players the club has decided not to register for the new season."The story making waves in the media is coming from players the club has decided to move on from and did not register," Mubarak said.According to Mubarak, there are no arrears from the start of the season until June, with the outstanding payments being from the end of the last season to the present, totalling three months of salary and some bonuses.Karela United, now under the ownership of former Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu, have relocated to Tamale. They are set to kick off their Ghana Premier League campaign this Sunday with a fixture against Asante Kotoko at the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex in Nalerigu.
