More work to be done, says Sudan coach Kwesi Appiah

Sudan national team coach James Kwesi Appiah says there is more work to be done despite his team's impressive form including a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Niger in their opening match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. The match took place at the Juba Stadium, where Abo Eisa scored the decisive goal, securing the first three points for the Falcons.“I thank the players for working hard to get the three points as we started the qualifiers," Appiah said after the game. However, he emphasized that there is still much work to be done, stating, "There is still a lot of work to be done because we have many more matches to be played in the group."The win has propelled Sudan to the second spot in Group F, tied on points with Angola, who currently sit at the top. Appiah's side will face Angola next on Monday, September 9, at the Estádio 11 de Novembro, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00 GMT.This victory also marks a positive trend for Appiah, who has now achieved five wins in his last six matches this year, showcasing the team's potential as they aim for success in the qualifiers.
