Ajax manager Farioli reveals chaos in failed Kamaldeen Sulemana transfer attempt
Ajax manager Francesco Farioli has revealed the chaotic nature of the club’s attempt to sign Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana in the final hours of the summer transfer window.Sulemana was poised to join the Dutch side from Southampton on a season-long loan with an option to buy for around 20 million euros.However, the transfer fell through due to the late submission of documents.The deal, which became more promising following Steve Bergwijn’s departure to Saudi club Al-Ittihad, couldn’t be completed in time.Despite efforts from all sides, FIFA rejected the request to finalise the transfer after the deadline.Farioli described the situation as chaotic, stating, "I would have loved to switch off my phone before the deadline, but I couldn’t due to some important calls. We were dealing with financial constraints and lost two players while trying to bring in Kamaldeen [Sulemana]. It was chaotic and frustrating for everyone involved."He added, "We can cry about what happened, or we can find a way to move forward."Sulemana remains at Southampton, where he is yet to make an appearance this season due to injury.
