GFA on track with women's football development strategy – Jennifer Amankwa Sarpong
Head of Women's Football Development at the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Jennifer Amankwa Sarpong, has affirmed that the GFA is steadily progressing with its Women's Football Strategy.Speaking at the ongoing Women's Football Administrators Course in Prampram, she emphasized the Association's commitment to growing women's football across the nation."In the field of Education, the GFA has offered refresher courses for female coaches, trained and built the capacities of administrators, trained and developed female referees and has expanded and organised courses for qualified technical staff at the National team levels," she said."Through the incorporation of the “Catch Them Young Referee Policy” at the grass-root level, we have also trained young girls in refereeing and also launched the Football4Girls Project across some Regions hoping to expand that later in the year."The area of Marketing and Communication is also a key aspect where the FA is investing heavily to ensure the women’s game is prompted across all networks and social media in order to draw some potential sponsors just as the main Women’s Premier League has Malta Guinness as sponsors."The GFA in the immediate short-term, is planning to launch the Women Football Campaign and League.
