GFA could propose TnA Stadium as alternative venue for Black Stars

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) could consider the TnA Stadium in Tarkwa as a potential alternative venue for the Black Stars' home matches after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) revoked approval for Kumasi's Baba Yara Stadium. The decision follows CAF's concerns about Baba Yara's suitability due to technical issues such as an unsuitable playing field, which led to its disqualification for hosting Category 3 international matches. If the GFA opts for the TnA Stadium, CAF will send independent assessors to evaluate the facility. This assessment, conducted at GFA's own cost, would ensure that TnA meets the required standards for hosting international fixtures. The TnA Stadium, which recently underwent a $16 million renovation to reach international standards, boasts a 13,000-seat capacity.Meanwhile, the Baba Yara Stadium remains closed for renovations, with the National Sports Authority working diligently to complete the upgrades.
