Ghanaian forward Samuel Amo-Ameyaw thrilled after scoring for Southampton in EFL Cup victory

English-Ghanaian forward Samuel Amo-Ameyaw expressed his excitement after netting his first senior goal for Southampton during their 5-3 victory over Cardiff City in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night. The 18-year-old forward started the match, operating on the right side of Southampton’s attack, and was a constant threat to the Cardiff defence. In the 30th minute, Amo-Ameyaw scored with a fine effort after being set up by Charlie Taylor, marking his first senior goal for the club."It feels amazing. Obviously, it's great to get the win and obviously get my first senior goal. So yeah, it feels amazing. I hit it and I hit it well, and it felt nice to see it get in," Amo-Ameyaw said in his post-match interview."It wasn’t easy, but we pushed, and it ended well. That goal gives me a lot of confidence, and hopefully, I can do more."His performance helped Southampton secure a spot in the next round of the competition, and he will be hoping for more opportunities this season.
