The removal of National Sports Authority (NSA) officials from Tarkwa-Nsuaem's TNA Stadium has drawn significant attention in Ghana’s sports community. The decision, led by Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Benjamin Kessie, came after growing dissatisfaction with the mismanagement and poor state of the stadium.Local residents, concerned about the facility’s decline under the NSA's oversight, united to address the issue. In response, the Tarkwa community formed an Interim Management Committee (IMC) to assume control of the stadium’s operations and maintenance. This committee is tasked with ensuring that the facility is not only brought up to the required standards for hosting sporting events but is also restored as a vibrant hub for social and cultural activities.Kessie emphasized the importance of the TNA Stadium, describing it as a central part of community life in Tarkwa. He noted that neglecting such an essential facility would be a disservice to the town, particularly as the stadium serves multiple purposes beyond sports. The NSA has yet to issue an official response, but this move underscores the broader need for improved management and accountability in Ghana’s sports infrastructure. The IMC has already begun its efforts, with a commitment to restoring community pride in the stadium.
