The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) will now take place from February 1 to February 28, 2025.This decision followed a meeting of the CAF Executive Committee in Nairobi, Kenya, on September 16, 2024.The first round of qualifiers for CHAN is scheduled to be played on the weekend of October 25-27, 2024.The tournament will be hosted in East Africa, with CAF set to announce the specific stadiums and venues soon.CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe recently inspected several venues in Kenya, commending the progress made but urging for faster work to ensure the facilities are ready on time.Senegal are the reigning champions, having defeated Algeria in the 2023 final.
