Fred Acheampong confirms mother’s passing in emotional tribute

Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member Frederick Acheampong, affectionately known as Fred Achie, has confirmed the passing of his mother in a heartfelt post on Facebook.In an emotional message shared on December 20, 2024, Acheampong expressed his heartbreak over the loss, writing:"I’m heartbroken I am deeply saddened to share the news that my beloved mother has passed away last night. While words cannot fully express the pain of this loss, I find comfort in knowing that she was loved by so many and lived a life full of kindness and warmth. I will be taking time to grieve and honour her memory, and I ask for your understanding and support during this difficult time. Thank you for your love and condolences."The post has drawn an outpouring of sympathy and support from friends, colleagues, and the football community, with many offering prayers and condolences.Acheampong's loss comes at a challenging time, following his recent defeat in the 2024 parliamentary elections for the Ahafo Ano South East seat.
