FIFA has released the official list of Ghanaian referees approved to officiate international matches in 2025.The list features 10 Center Referees, 10 Assistant Referees, a Futsal Referee, a Beach Soccer Referee, and a Video Assistant Referee (VAR).In line with FIFA regulations, Member Associations must annually propose or renew appointments for referees on the FIFA list.This involves rigorous fitness and medical tests approved by FIFA.The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Referees Committee oversees the nomination process, ensuring all candidates meet FIFA’s criteria.Finalized nominations are reviewed by the GFA Executive Council before submission to FIFA for validation.FIFA retains the right to reject nominees who fail to meet the standards.Approved referees receive FIFA badges for the calendar year, with their renewal dependent on performance and other criteria set by the GFA.The FIFA badge is considered the property of the Member Association.This announcement emphasizes high officiating standards, offering Ghanaian referees the chance to represent the country on the global stage.
