Sweden-based defender Terry Yegbe has earned his first senior Black Stars call-up, joining five other players added to the squad for Ghana's crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.The Ghana Football Association confirmed Yegbe’s invitation after multiple player withdrawals due to injuries and other reasons.The IF Elfsborg defender, formerly a Ghana U-23 player, has been waiting for this opportunity and is reportedly thrilled by the chance to represent Ghana on the senior level.Yegbe has been instrumental for Elfsborg this season in the Swedish League and UEFA Europa League, contributing to six clean sheets in the domestic league.The centre-back has shown remarkable consistency, starting all 22 league games, scoring three goals, and adding an assist.In Europe, Yegbe has featured in all of Elfsborg's Europa League games, achieving a clean sheet in their notable win over AS Roma.This senior team call-up is a milestone for Yegbe, who last represented Ghana with the Black Meteors during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.The Black Stars will face Angola away on November 15 before hosting Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium on November 18, and the defender will hope to make his debut.
