Asante Kotoko SC have bolstered their squad with the signing of Congolese defender Gilbani O'Neil Ndongani Samba on a two-year deal.The club confirmed the signing on Thursday, which marks their fourth acquisition following the additions of Emmanuel Antwi, Esmat Abdulhamid, and AbdoelKarem AbdoelRahman Yoouef Yagoub.Samba arrived in Kumasi on Thursday morning, passed a mandatory medical test, and subsequently penned a deal with the club.He played for Rahimo FC in Burkina Faso in the past season but didn't extend his stay after his contract expired.The centre-back made 29 appearances, scoring once and providing four assists in the Burkinabe top-flight last season.He has previously featured for Nigerien clubs AS Douanes and Sahel SC before moving to Burkina Faso in 2021, joining Rahimo.Kotoko is rebuilding their team ahead of the 2024-25 season, having released 23 players after the previous season.The club will face rivals Hearts of Oak in the inaugural Democracy Cup next Wednesday at the Accra Sports Stadium, organized by the Parliament of Ghana to celebrate 30 years of democratic rule.The Porcupine Warriors aims to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season and compete effectively in the Ghanaian football landscape.
