Asante Kotoko are reportedly close to signing Bofoakwa Tano striker Saaka Dauda for a fee of GHC 150,000.The move would be Kotoko's sixth transfer of the window, bolstering their attack for the upcoming season.Dauda, the captain of the relegated Bofoakwa Tano, impressed last season with 8 goals, including a memorable strike against Hearts of Oak.His versatility allows him to play as a central striker or on the wing, potentially adding depth and competition to Kotoko's attacking options.The 24-year-old will face competition from recently acquired forwards Elvis Kyei Baffour and AbdoelKarem AbdoelRahman Yoouef Yagoub for a starting spot in coach Prosper Narteh Ogum's preferred 4-3-3 formation.Baffour impressed in Kotoko's recent Democracy Cup win, while Yagoub remains an unproven entity in Ghanaian football.This transfer window has been busy for Kotoko as they aim to erase the disappointment of a trophyless 2023/24 season.The signing of Dauda, if completed, will further strengthen their squad ahead of the new Ghana Premier League season kicking off on September 6th.
