Ghanaian defender Zico Asare signs with Harrogate Town

Harrogate Town AFC have announced the signing of Ghanaian defender Zico Asare, bolstering their League Two squad.Asare joins the club as their second summer signing, arriving on a permanent transfer from Maidenhead United.The 23-year-old impressed during the 2023/24 season, earning a call-up to the England C team after his strong performances.Asare began his career at Fulham and represented England at the U15 level.He then moved to Oxford City in 2021 before joining Maidenhead United in 2022. There, he established himself as a reliable right-back in the National League.Harrogate Town's Head of Player Recruitment, Lloyd Kerry, praised Asare's qualities: "Zico is athletic, powerful and is hungry for an opportunity in the Football League, he has the profile we’re looking for in a full-back and he’ll add competition for places.""He’s explosive, can get away from his man and competes well so we’re looking forward to seeing what he can do," he added.
