Black Queens arrive in Birmingham ahead of England friendly

Ghana's Black Queens have arrived in England ahead of their international friendly against the European champions. The team led by head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren touched down in Birmingham on Thursday to begin preparations for the game. The players including England-based Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah and German-born Josephine Bonsu were spotted in camp for their first training session.Goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan, one of the home-based players in the team, flew to join the squad in England. The match serves as preparations ahead of next year's Women's Africa Cup of Nations after the Black Queens secured qualification following a thumping victory over Egypt in October. The Black Queens will reportedly face Aston Villa's women's team in a behind close door friendly as part of their preparations. The game against the Three Lionesses has been slated for December 2 at Saint Mary's.It will be a first meeting between the African giants and the European powerhouse.Ghana finished the last Africa Women's Cup of Nations as bronze medalist.Watch video below: Dapping up 👊🏾 with the BlackQueens 🇬🇭 #ShineBlackQueens✨ pic.twitter.com/qfGh5IFZhO— Ghana Women National Teams 🇬🇭 (@GhanaWNT) November 27, 2025
