Asante Kotoko fans fumes over 'bias' officiating

Asante Kotoko's supporters have launched a direct attack on the Ghana Football Association's Referees Manager, Alex Kotey, demanding his immediate removal from the role, in a dramatic escalation of tensions surrounding officiating in the Ghana Premier League. Speaking on a Kumasi-based radio station, the leadership of the Asante Kotoko Global Supporters Union accused Alex Kotey of harbouring a clear bias against the Porcupine Warriors, alleging that his management of referees has led to consistently detrimental decisions in their matches.“Alex Kotey has become a major problem for refereeing in the GPL,” said Kwaku Amponsah, the supporters’ patron. “We are calling on the GFA to remove him as Referees Manager and appoint a new person because he has shown clear bias against Asante Kotoko whenever decisions go against us.”The supporters argue that Kotey's alleged influence is eroding confidence in the entire refereeing system.
