The first 300 semi-permanent housing units for families who lost their homes during the passage of Hurricane Melissa are on the island and are being cleared for distribution. Prime Minister, Dr Andrew Holness, made the disclosure during his contribution to the 2026/27 Budget Debate in the House of Representatives on March 19. He noted that 2,500 semi-permanent housing solutions have been procured by the NHT at a cost of US$19 million.
