When power forgets it breathes

THE EDITOR, Madam: Dennis Minott’s March 22 article, ‘Could Trump eat grass before reason returns?’, retrieves an ancient text for a frighteningly modern crisis. By invoking Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel 4, Minott reminds us that the gravest danger in political life is not merely flawed policy, but disordered power – power intoxicated with itself, mistaking spectacle for wisdom, impulse for strength, and domination for destiny. His warning is sound: leadership untethered from humility becomes dangerous to others and, in time, to itself.
