Uproar over publication of EFAR before tabling in Parliament
Fiscal Commissioner Courtney Williams has sought to defend the publishing of an economic and fiscal assessment report (EFAR) on the Independent Fiscal Commission’s (IFC) website before the document was tabled in Parliament. There was consternation among members of parliament (MPs) at the start of last Thursday’s sitting of the Standing Finance Committee over the publication of the EFAR by the media without the report being first tabled in the Lower House.
