Brighton finalizes 2025 budget

The big numbers have been finalized in Brighton. Council approved the budget on Tuesday. This year's Operating Budget in Brighton is 20.3 million dollars. The Capital Budget is around 42 million dollars. The increase was 7.61%, but when blended with the County (Northumberland) and education taxes the average homeowner will see an increase of 6.24%. That will translate to an extra $363 dollars on an average residential assessment of $400,000 (total tax bill would be around $6,174).
