Beyond the Headlines - Loyalist College financial challenges

As we enter two election campaigns this spring, an issue they both share responsibility for is now front and centre. Yesterday, officials at Loyalist College announced that they are suspending the intake for 30% of programs, and reducing overall staffing by 20%. They are facing a projected 40-million-dollar shortfall in the fiscal starting April 1st, and another 8-million-dollars the following year because of a massive drop in enrollment by international students, and a freeze on tuition for domestic students that currently stands at 2015 levels.
