Total burn ban in effect across Quinte West

Quinte West Fire and Emergency Services has issued a total ban on open-air burning, including all campfires and brush burning, effective immediately and until further notice. This burn ban is in effect across Hastings County. Deputy Fire Chief Rick Caddick, Hastings and Prince Edward Counties Fire Coordinator, has issued this county-wide ban that is prompted by ongoing dry conditions in the local area, which increase the potential for the rapid and uncontrollable spread of open-air fires.  Quinte West Fire and Emergency Services will continue to monitor conditions and notify residents once the ban has been lifted....
