Hold and secure in Northumberland Wednesday

There was no threat to anyone's safety yesterday in an incident that required a hold and secure at a school in Castleton. Just before 2 p.m. Wednesday, Northumberland OPP responded to a report of a suspicious person believed to be carrying a weapon in the area of Cemetery Road. There was an increased police presence in the area as officers located and spoke with an individual at the cemetery who was found to be in possession of a musical instrument. The hold and secure was lifted shortly before 2:25 p.m. Northumberland OPP thanks the public and school staff for their cooperation....
