Quinte West, Northumberland County burn bans to be lifted

Burn bans in Quinte West and Northumberland County are being lifted on Wednesday. The Municipality of Quinte West stated it will be lifting its full burn ban at noon after it had been in place since August 11. A partial burn ban was instituted before that on August 6. “We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation during the burn ban,” stated Deputy Fire Chief Rick Caddick in a media release. “Although the burn ban has been lifted, we remind everyone to burn responsibly and never leave a fire unattended.” Meanwhile, the County stated based on significant rainfall, cooler temperatures and more rain...
