Meet The Agent: Sanjay Kosmadia, Engel & Völkers Kamloops

Welcome to Meet the Agent, an ongoing series profiling real estate agents from across Canada. With more than 150,000 agents, brokers, and salespeople working in 75 different boards and associations across the country, we thought it was about time they had a place to properly introduce themselves. If you or someone you know deserves the same chance, email agents@storeys.com to apply.THE DETAILSName: Sanjay KosmadiaAreas of Focus: Kamloops and the surrounding areasPersonal Channels: Instagram | LinkedIn | Brokerage WebsiteYears of Experience: 3.5THE INSIGHTSWhere did you grow up?Burnaby, BCWhat neighbourhood do you live in now?KamloopsWhat made you want to become a real estate agent?I’ve always been passionate about helping people, and real estate allows me to guide clients through one of the biggest milestones of their lives. It’s incredibly rewarding to see their excitement and confidence in achieving their homeownership dreams. What’s the biggest challenge you see facing the market today?Affordability is a major concern, especially with low inventory and high property prices. Many buyers are struggling to balance their budgets while finding homes that meet their needs, creating a highly competitive market. What’s the single best advice you have for sellers?Price your home strategically and present it well. A realistic price attracts more interest, and staging or small upgrades can create a lasting impression, maximizing your property’s value. What’s the single best advice you have for buyers?Get pre-approved before you start house hunting. Knowing your budget not only makes you a stronger buyer but also helps focus your search on homes you can afford, saving time and stress. What’s the best thing a realtor can invest in for their brand (a bus bench ad, a solid Instagram strategy, etc.)?Invest in your clients as they will be your best marketers you could ever hope for.Who do you look up to in the industry and why?I admire Matt and Chris Town, who excels at both client service and community impact. They balance professionalism with a personal touch while giving back to their local communities. Is there anything you wish people knew or understood about realtors that you think they’re constantly getting wrong? Many think we just “sell houses,” but our work involves strategy, negotiations, market knowledge and client care. We’re advocates for our clients, working tirelessly to achieve their goals.Tell us about your favourite (or most memorable) sale.Helping a first-time homebuyer secure their dream home was truly unforgettable. We faced several roadblocks along the way, requiring creative problem-solving and constant reassurance to keep their hopes alive. Despite the challenges, seeing their excitement when I handed them the keys to a home they once thought was out of reach was incredible. Moments like that remind me why I love what I do.The three words you hope your clients use to describe youTrustworthy, approachable, knowledgeable. What’s your favourite thing to do outside of selling houses?I love playing golf, spending time with my family, and enjoying the outdoors, whether it’s snowboarding at Sun Peaks or camping in beautiful BC.
