I was again reminded yesterday that for our emergency responders, preparation is key, and timing is everything. A woman was rescued by the Quinte West Fire Department after being spotted out on the ice near open water in Trenton. Fire Chief John Whalen was quick to thank everyone involved with the joint operation, which included Quinte West OPP, Firefighters and Hastings Quinte Paramedics, who treated the woman on scene and took her to the hospital as a precaution.
